Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Kreeri area of Baramulla district in Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday. The encounter broke out in the early hours of the morning and lasted for several hours. The militants belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group.

The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the region. During the search operation, the militants opened fire on the security forces, leading to a gunfight. The exchange of fire lasted for several hours, during which the militants were neutralized.
