Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday distributed 71,000 appointment letters to beneficiaries of various government schemes at a Rozgar Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district.

The event was organized under the auspices of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), a government scheme to provide skill development and employment opportunities to rural youth.

The Prime Minister congratulated the beneficiaries and said that the government is committed to empowering youth through employment opportunities. He said that the Rozgar Mela will help bridge the gap between the demand and supply of skilled manpower.

The Prime Minister also interacted with some of the beneficiaries and asked them about their experience with the scheme. He encouraged them to work hard and contribute to the development of the country.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Mines Pralhad Joshi.

The DDU-GKY scheme was launched in 2014 and aims to provide employment opportunities to rural youth by providing them with skill training. The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development and targets youth from poor families in the age group of 15-35 years.

The Rozgar Mela in Prayagraj is part of a series of events being organized by the government to create awareness about the scheme and to distribute appointment letters to beneficiaries.
